Precision Air has today announced the decision to launch direct flights from Dar-es-Salaam to Kigoma and Bukoba.
The direct flights will operate effective 24 th September 2014. Precision Air has been serving the two destinations via Mwanza.
Commenting on the development, Precision Air Acting Commercial Director Mr. Elvis Ndomo said the move to direct flights is a product enhancement targeted at improving the experience of Precision Air passengers flying to the two destinations from Dar-es-Salaam. “We have done this in response to ourcustomers’ feedback and constant requests for direct flights” said Mr. Ndomo.
Kigoma will receive three flights a week on Monday, Tuesday and Friday while Bukoba will be served four times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
At the same time, Precision Air has also announced a temporary suspension of its Hahaya route effective 24th September 2014. Mr. Ndomo explained that the decision to suspend the route was based commercial and resource optimization and needs. He said that operations on the route will be resumed as soon as conditions allow, adding that Precision Air remains committed to her goal of developing a regional route network focused on the East and Central Africa, including the Indian Ocean Islands.
He further explained that Passengers holding tickets on the cancelled flights will be rebooked on partner airlines where regulations allow. “For cases where regulation prevents us from rebooking on other airlines, passengers will be refunded the full amounts of the unutilized portions of their tickets with penalties waived” he added. He also noted that Arrangements have been made to facilitate the refunds through Precision Air or Travel Agent Offices.
