Jet Airways appoints Rahul Taneja as Chief People Officer

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, today announced the appointment of Rahul Taneja as Chief People Officer.

Mr. Taneja, 47, has over 25 years of experience in diverse industry sectors and has worked in HR leadership positions across leading Indian and international companies.

As Chief People Officer of Jet Airways, Mr. Taneja will be responsible for shaping the operations and performance of the Group. He will join the Executive Management Committee that has been tasked by the Board of Directors of Jet Airways to drive the company’s growth and future strategy.

Commenting on the appointment, Naresh Goyal, Chairman, Jet Airways, said: “I am delighted that Rahul Taneja has joined Jet Airways as Chief People Officer and a key member of our executive management committee. He brings with him a global HR management perspective, and I am sure Jet Airways will benefit substantially from his expertise and experience locally and internationally. I look forward to Rahul working with our entire leadership team as we continue to execute our growth strategy.”

Mr Taneja previously headed Corporate Human Resources at Essar Group, an Energy, Metals & Mining, Infrastructure and Services multinational corporation. At Essar, he spearheaded the strategic re-design of the organisation and led the HR function for global operations across all business portfolios.

His earlier roles included HR Director at computer giant Dell International and Group HR Head at telecom networks solutions company, HFCL.

Jet Airways is India’s premier international airline operating flights to 73 destinations, including 51 in India and 22 across the world. Jet Airways’ robust domestic network in India spans the length and breadth of the country covering metro cities, state capitals and emerging destinations. Beyond India, Jet Airways operates flights to key international destinations in South East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, Europe and North America.

The Jet Airways Group currently operates a fleet of 116 aircraft, comprising Boeing 777-300 ERs, Airbus A330-200 /3 00, Next Generation Boeing 737s and ATR 72-500 / 600s. With an average age of 6.63 years, this is one of the youngest fleets in the region.
