Vientiane-based Lao Airlines will halt direct Laos to Singapore flights from March 25, due to operational reasons.

The national airline of Laos announced it will resume the service to Singapore as soon as possible.

This is the second time that direct flights between the two countries have been halted and comes just five months after Lao Airlines relaunched the direct Vientiane-Singapore service in late-October last year.

Until February this year, six daily flights were available between Laos and Singapore under a codesharing deal signed with SilkAir in July 2017. Currently, SilkAir flies to Laos three times a week.
