Eastern Airways, a franchise partner of Flybe, is increasing its Newcastle to Aberdeen service up to four flights a day, helping improve links between the north-east of England and the oil capital.

From Monday, 21 January 2019, passengers travelling to Aberdeen from Newcastle Monday to Thursday will have the choice of up to four flight times.  This is also complemented by the Durham Tees Valley service, providing the north east of England with up to seven flights a day in total to Aberdeen.

With an approximate journey time of just an hour, peak weekday flights depart Newcastle for Aberdeen at 6.45 am, 11.15 am, 1.45 pm and 9 pm.  The airline continues to offer a weekend service on Sundays.

The UK airline currently operates two flights daily between Newcastle and Aberdeen.

This latest announcement follows on from the regional operator’s recently introduced new twice daily route from Newcastle to London City, which started last week.

Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ General Manager Operations, said:

“After a strong start to bookings in 2019, we have significantly increased our Newcastle to Aberdeen service with some weekday customers now having double the amount of flights to choose from, thanks to our Monday-Thursday service operating four times daily from Newcastle.

“We know the Newcastle and Durham Tees Valley services to Aberdeen are heavily relied upon by those working in the oil and gas sector, and with the latest industry survey* revealing the highest levels of confidence in business since 2013, we’re very pleased to help meet the demands in the sector.”

Steve Szalay, Aberdeen International Airport Managing Director said:

“Newcastle has strong links with the energy sector and is therefore an essential destination for our business passengers. It is also a great location for a weekend break, consistently voted as one of the best in the UK. We look forward to welcoming our passengers to the newly upgraded terminal when the increased number of flights begins later this month.”
