Oliver Lackmann will take over the role as Managing Director of the Austrian airline Niki, following Thomas Suritsch, who will leave the company for health reasons.
Captain Oliver Lackmann served as Chief Flight Operations Officer and Accountable Manager of airberlin during recent years, and was responsible for flight operations, crew planning and training, as well as Operations Compliance & Safety Management and Aviation Security Management. He has been with airberlin since 2001, including 11 years as a captain, and currently flies the Airbus A320 / A330.
Thomas Suritsch was previously Vice President Crew Operations within airberlin and significantly improved productivity. After that as Managing Director of Niki he took decisive further steps in developing the company commercially and operationally. “We thank Thomas Suritsch dearly for his achievements within airberlin and Niki and personally wish him all the best”, says Stefan Pichler, CEO airberlin. “I am pleased to have Oliver Lackmann with us leading Niki – an experienced aviation expert who will bring best practices from various airlines into the operations of Niki and will drive the continued development and improvement of the company.”
