Thomson and First Choice announced increased capacity at Humberside Airport for their summer 2017 flying programme.

Holidaymakers will be able to take advantage of greater choice and flexibility with a new service to Tenerife with Thomson Airways.

The move to introduce the new flights, which will depart each Monday, is part of the holiday company’s strategy to ensure customers across the UK can fly from their local airport and stay at the best hotels in some of the most exciting destinations. The new routes will go on sale today in line with the launch of summer 2017 holidays and build on the introduction of flights to the Canary Island, which will begin in November.

Tenerife also boasts many attractions including the Siam Park waterpark and Teide National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site with spectacular scenery surrounding the volcanic Mount Teide, Spain’s highest point.

Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for Thomson and First Choice, said:

“Adding more capacity from Humberside Airport with the introduction of new flights to Tenerife demonstrates our commitment to the airport and the surrounding area. Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”

Deborah Zost, Humberside Airport’s Managing Director, said:

“Convenient, summer flights to Tenerife, resulting in a year-round service to this popular Canary Island, are ideal from Humberside and great news for the region’s holidaymakers. This latest development with Thomson Airways expanding its programme from Humberside is a great vote of confidence for the airport and demonstrates the potential they see in developing flights and holidays from our region.”
