Allegiant inaugurates two new routes to Savannah

Tis Meyer /

Allegiant today inaugurates two new, nonstop routes from Indianapolis and Pittsburgh to Savannah / Hilton Head.

“Allegiant is very pleased to add these two new routes to Savannah / Hilton Head,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “Travelers from Indianapolis and Pittsburgh can now conveniently and affordably enjoy summer vacations in this charming Southern destination.”

The new routes will operate twice weekly and expand on the service Allegiant currently operates to Savannah / Hilton Head International Airport (SAV). With the two new routes, Allegiant will fly from five cities to Savannah / Hilton Head after beginning service in 2015. The company will also be adding two more routes from Baltimore / Washington D.C. and Lexington, Kentucky later this summer.

“We have known for some time that there is great potential for success in connecting great cities like Indianapolis and Pittsburgh with Savannah, Hilton Head, and the Low Country with direct and affordable air service,” said Gregory B. Kelly, Savannah Airport Commission executive director. “As such, we are very pleased to see that Allegiant has chosen to do just that. We will work very closely with our regional marketing partners to ensure the success and growth of this service.”
“We see visitors to Savannah from Pennsylvania and Indiana all year long, but up to this point, they have been traveling here by car,” said Joseph Marinelli, Visit Savannah president. “With Allegiant’s new service, these same folks and their friends, families and neighbors can now make the trip even quicker. And for those looking for an easy-to-get-to getaway destination, Savannah is exactly what they are looking for.”

So many new routes. So few TRUE explanations from Allegiant Air about mysteriously cancelling so many flights, the pathetic continuation of all these maintenance related emergencies and unimaginable quantities of customer complaints.

But, keep right adding those routes Allegiant Air. Ya scared the life out of my family just once, and we’d been warned about how bad you are.

    Never again@

Oh! More new routes, huh? Still no viable explanation of last week’s mass cancellations and this never-ending string of aircraft maintenance related emergencies.

But, plenty of new routes on aircraft that should have been chopped up for scrap LONG ago!

Have at it folks. Hope the only thing we remain counting about Allegiant Air is these news routes, aircraft emergencies and massive number of customer complaints…..instead of fatalities in the wake of the inevitable.
