CommutAir today announced that it had named Sean Frick as its new Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all Finance, Accounting, Treasury and Control functions.
He will replace Missy Kelsen, who will retire in the first Quarter of 2017, after a smooth transition.
Frick joined CommutAir earlier this year and had been focused on ensuring CommutAir’s readiness for the company’s planned 5x growth and the acceptance of 40 Embraer ERJ145 aircraft under the new United Express flying partner agreement.
Frick comes to CommutAir with deep and broad finance and aviation experience gleaned in fast-changing workplaces. His past airline experience includes finance, planning & analysis, project management, aircraft transactions, and marketing leadership responsibilities at ATA Airlines, World Airways and North American Airlines. Frick also led the Airline Marketing team at Bombardier Aerospace. Most recently, he helped mid-sized distressed companies in their successful turnaround efforts.
“Sean’s domain and functional knowledge is valuable of course,” said Subodh Karnik, President & CEO of CommutAir, “but his experience in high growth and metamorphosing environments will help us manage our torrid Embraer ERJ145 expansion.”
Frick’s appointment comes amid the most significant growth in CommutAir’s history. The company will triple its fleet, adding 40 Embraer ERJ145 jets to its 21 turboprop Q200/300 aircraft and grow by 450%, as measured by Available Seat Miles, in two years. He will be part of the leadership team that will create the infrastructure, establish the financing, and design the environment that will attract the hundreds of pilots and other professionals to propel this growth.
