WestJet today announced November 2017 traffic results with a load factor of 82.4 per cent, an increase of 2.4 percentage points year over year.
Revenue passenger miles (RPMs), or traffic, increased 12.1 per cent year over year, and capacity, measured in available seat miles (ASMs), grew 8.9 per cent over the same period. The airline flew a record 1.9 million guests in November, a year-over-year increase of 13.2 per cent or approximately 226,000 additional guests.
“We are very pleased with our double-digit traffic growth and record number of guests flown in November,” said WestJet President and CEO Gregg Saretsky.
“I want to thank our more than 13,000 WestJetters for their continued efforts in providing our guests with a safe, friendly and caring travel experience through the busy upcoming holiday season.”
In November, WestJet, Air France and KLM announced the redemption phase of their reciprocal frequent flyer agreement. Flying Blue Miles can now be redeemed for WestJet flights and WestJet dollars can now be redeemed for flights within the Air France and KLM global network. The announcement comes on the heels of the airlines’ successful launch of the earning phase of the reciprocal frequent flyer agreement and further complements their long-standing codeshare cooperation.
