Amsterdam Airport Schiphol decreases airport fees with 11.6% in 2016

A higher than expected number of passengers in 2014 and 2015 and the results of an effective cost cutting program, have enabled Schiphol to decrease the airport fees substantially for the second consecutive year.

As per April 1, 2015, the airport already announced an average decrease of 6.8%. After consultations with the airlines, today Schiphol announces an average decrease of 11.6%. In this way Schiphol will maintain a strong international competitive position. The lower fees will be in effect as of April 1, 2016.

Substantial growth in passengers demands for major investments in the airport infrastructure, in order to enable future growth. Schiphol expects to make large investments in both capacity and quality in the years to come. This means that the airport fees will see an increase in the next years. Schiphol aims to do this gradually, aiming to maintain a competitive position for the mainport.
