London Luton Airport Extends Air Ambulance Support

A second air ambulance service is set to receive a boost from London Luton Airport and Harrods Aviation.

Harrods Aviation Ltd, a specialist private aviation operator at London Luton Airport, has agreed to waive all parking and handling costs for the Children’s Air Ambulance while London Luton Airport has agreed to supply fuel free of charge as well as offering to waive all landing fees

The Children’s Air Ambulance (TCAA) charity is an aero medical transfer service whose specialist facilities are so advanced it can provide intensive care in the air for critically ill babies and children up to the age of 18 while transferring them from local hospitals to specialist paediatric and neonatal treatment centres.

The new arrangement means that the lifesaving charity can now use London Luton as a pit stop without incurring any charges. The same offer of help was made to Herts and Essex Air Ambulance last year.

Director of Operations at Children’s Air Ambulance Richard Clayton said:

“We’re extremely grateful for the support from LLA and Harrods Aviation. This generosity enables us to direct more of our public donations to the front line service of helping NHS specialist transport teams, involved in paediatric and neonatal transfers, to keep hope alive for these priceless patients”.

Neil Thompson, Operations Director at London Luton Airport, said:

“London Luton Airport is delighted to be able to extend our support to the Children’s Air Ambulance which does such incredible work across the UK. For a charity based entirely on donations, we know every little helps and enables them to continue their good work”.

Will Holroyd, Sales and Marketing Director at Harrods Aviation, said:

“We are proud to be supporting such a worthy cause by waiving these costs. It means that whenever they are operating in the area, they can be assured of receiving immediate and full support on the ground from Harrods Aviation.”
