RUAG opens new showroom for cabin interiors in Munich

RUAG Aviation unveiled a new showroom at its Munich location.

Dedicated to cabin interiors, the new facility provides customers with expert guidance and support, enabling the successful navigation of a personalised cabin design process. It also features a materials selection centre, displaying a comprehensive range of materials and finishes – from the finest leathers to luxurious wooden veneers.

RUAG Aviation affords its customers more clarity and assurance throughout their cabin restyling projects with a new dedicated cabin design showroom at its Munich location. A materials selection centre where customers are guided through the process of choosing the materials and finishes that best reflect their personal style, as well as displays of innovative cabin accessories, leather customisations and countless extras, are intrinsic elements made readily available.

“A business aircraft is like a calling card; therefore, it is important that it projects the right image,” emphasises André Ebach, General Manager Business Jets, RUAG Aviation. “Materials and finishes are essential to this, as well as to the ambiance of an aircraft cabin. However, with so many possibilities out there, the task of choosing an exclusive and personal design for an aircraft interior can often be overwhelming. Our materials selection centre allows customers to view, touch and feel an extensive range of materials,” he adds, confirming that a dedicated RUAG expert is always on hand to provide guidance and assistance. Personal mood cards, colour wheels and especially visualisation technology are just some of the tools on hand to help customers achieve the perfect look for their aircraft interior.

RUAG Aviation is convinced that designing an aircraft cabin, choosing fittings and interior materials, should be a sensory experience for the customer – but also one that is straightforward and promotes excitement. This is why every RUAG customer can depend on the support and expertise of a dedicated RUAG Aviation cabin design specialist, to accompany them every step of the way: “The new showroom makes it easier for customers to be at the centre of the creative process. Individual consultation is an essential part of that. Customers benefit because we better understand their needs, but our team also learns from the customer: their choices and ideas serve as inspiration for future innovation,” states Robin Freigang, Director Cabin Interior Services & Design, RUAG Aviation. He adds that when it comes to cabin interiors, “Our customers have high expectations and, to some extent, quite particular concepts in mind. When they talk to us, they convey the factors that are important to them and what sort of ambience makes them feel comfortable. Their active participation in the creative process helps us to better support them with professional and comprehensive advice.”

RUAG Aviation sees every cabin design as unique – regardless of whether it is working from a blank canvas, or from the customer’s own sketches. Some customers even approach world-class designers to develop a comprehensive design concept for their aircraft cabin. Regardless of the project, RUAG Aviation considers the customer to be the most important member of the creative team. That means the customer should have ample opportunity to see – and experiment with – a variety of concepts.

This is why the new showroom also includes state-of-the-art visualisation technology allowing customers to virtually apply potential designs to their aircraft. “Thanks to our new showroom, customers can compile various material combinations and coordinate the effect they have on one another, rather than selecting individual materials one step at a time,” explains Robin Freigang. “This provides a much better idea of the overall design, allowing us to then tailor it to individual wishes.”

RUAG Aviation’s business aircraft sector in Munich has been focussing primarily on cabin retrofit, system upgrades and complete cabin refurbishment since 2011. Functionality and aesthetics have an important role to play in this, and thanks to the new dedicated showroom for cabin interiors, it is now even easier for customers to participate in driving the creative process: “Because we are constantly extending the portfolio of what we can offer at each of our locations – engineering, design and fabrication – our products and services have become more personal and exclusive than ever before. The new showroom helps us to turn each customer visit into a memorable experience – an experience for all of the senses,” concludes André Ebach.
