Wheels Up Names Sean McGeough as Head of Corporate Sales

Wheels Up, the member-based private aviation company, announced today the recent appointment of Sean McGeough as Executive Vice President of Sales, specifically Head of Corporate Sales.

Wheels Up provides companies with a trusted, turnkey private aviation solution that does not require the ownership of an asset, a long-term agreement or a minimum hours commitment. From Fortune 500 companies to start-ups and businesses in between, McGeough and his team are dedicated to creating real solutions in today’s billion-dollar marketplace when companies are evaluating budgets and travel necessity or needing a reliable partner who can provide supplemental lift and complement existing aviation programs.

“We are thrilled to welcome a seasoned aviation executive like Sean McGeough to the Wheels Up team,” said Founder and CEO Kenny Dichter. “Sean’s extensive industry experience and expertise make him an ideal addition to the leadership team to support Wheels Up business objectives.”

An established aircraft sales leader with over $4 billion in sales, McGeough previously served as Vice President of North American Sales for Aerion Supersonic where he was part of the team that led the $2.5 Billion As2 fleet sale to Flex Jet. During his two years at Aerion Corporation McGeough fostered new relationships with all the major flight departments across the United States. Prior to this, McGeough held the title of CEO for the pioneering Nextant Aerospace. It was at Nextant, where he was responsible for transforming the company into a global, award-winning aviation brand. As CEO, he oversaw the company’s growth, international expansion, new product launches, operations and customer support. These achievements were built on a record of international sales success with Hawker Beechcraft (HBC); which in turn lead to his promotion as President of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific (EMEA & APAC), following postings in South Africa and Switzerland.

“In my experience working with flight departments and companies around the globe, they’re always trying to find ways to maximize their budgets while maintaining safety, reliability and consistency. What attracted me to Wheels Up was the fact that their safety standards are among the highest in the industry,” said McGeough. “We have created a new vertical for companies—we’re truly an added benefit. We’re not asking them to change what they have or what they are doing today, we’re offering them additional coverage – an option that will enhance the way they travel for business.”

McGeough holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology and is an airline transport pilot (ATP) holding a type rating on the King Air 350i. He is also an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).
