Spanish Air Force Eurofighter Crashes in southeastern Spain, Killing Pilot

A Spanish Eurofighter jet crashed on Thursday after taking part in a military display in Madrid for Spain’s national day, killing its pilot, the defense ministry said.

Emergency services received a call informing them that the plane had crashed on farmland around the Los Llanos base near the town of Albacete.

The causes of the accident were being investigated, the ministry added in a note.

A Eurofighter last crashed in Spain in June 2014, killing the pilot when it went down short of the runway at the Moron air force base near Seville.
