Air Namibia Postpones Launch of Additional Frequencies

Air Namibia announced the postponement of the launch of additional frequencies on some of our domestic and regional routes, which were due to start on 31 March 2019.

Details of additional frequencies to be postponed are as follows:

Eros – Ondangwa – Eros: The airline planned to introduce three additional flights per week, which would have resulted in three daily flights on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The number of flights on this route for those days will instead remain on twice per day.

Eros – Katima Mulilo – Eros: The launch of the additional rotation envisaged for Thursdays is delayed, resulting in flight frequencies on this route remaining on four per week, operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Eros – Rundu – Eros: The launch of the additional rotation envisaged for Mondays is delayed, resulting in flight frequencies on this route remaining on three weekly flights, operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Ondangwa – Walvis Bay – Ondangwa: Three weekly flights will be withdrawn effective 31 March 2019. Passengers wishing to travel on this route will need to travel via Windhoek.

Walvis Bay – Johannesburg – Walvis Bay: Route will be withdrawn from service offering effective 31 March 2019, and the market for this route will be serviced via Windhoek.

Air Namibia said that among the reasons for postponement of the frequency increases is the need to ensure operational readiness from the perspective of aircraft availability and related reasons.

“We would like to apologise to the flying public and our esteemed client for postponement of introducing these additional frequencies, and we will ensure that as soon as it becomes feasible for us to launch these services, related announcements will be made,” the airline said in a statement.
