Silver Airways and Avianca have further expanded their relationship by introducing a codeshare partnership, providing customers of both airlines seamless connections between the carrier’s networks.

This marks the first international codeshare partner for Silver Airways, which complements the airline’s already extensive network of codeshare and interline partnerships with 10 carriers.

“Passengers flying Avianca from Bogota, Colombia to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, Florida can now seamlessly connect to Silver Airways flights to Key West, Tampa, Pensacola, and Tallahassee. At the same time, Silver’s customers traveling from Florida can seamlessly connect to Avianca’s flights to Bogota, Colombia and beyond. By booking single-ticket trips and combining flights on multiple carriers, customers benefit from one-stop check-in and baggage check when transferring between the two airlines.”

“Silver Airways is already well recognized in the U.S. with an ever growing network of codeshare partners with high quality carriers. And now international carriers are engaging us as well,” said Silver Airways President and CEO Sami Teittinen.

“As a next step, we are also working towards adding Avianca’s code to Silver’s strong network throughout the Bahamas. In addition, we look forward to further expanding the relationship to include Silver’s flights to Cuba which are scheduled to start in September.”

In announcing the agreement, President and CEO of Avianca, Hernán Rincón, said:

“It is a pleasure to introduce our travelers this agreement with Silver Airways, which allows us to expand options to reach more destinations in Florida. We are also proud that once again more airlines choose Avianca as the ideal partner to carry passengers to diverse points in Latin America and Europe. All of this encourages us to continue working hard on delivering quality air service. Our goal is not only to further expand the network. We also want to remain the best in service.”

This codeshare agreement with Avianca is a perfect example of how Silver Airways continues to strategically develop airline partnerships that synergistically complement its partner airlines’ networks. In just a few years since beginning operations as an independent airline, Silver Airways has developed a diverse and growing portfolio of airline partnerships that today includes codeshare agreements with United, JetBlue, and Avianca, as well as interline agreements with American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Bahamasair, Alaska Airlines, Azul Brazilian Airlines, Hahn Air, and All Nippon Airways.
