With over 30 years of international experience and operating from seven first class academies located in Montpellier (France), Oxford (United Kingdom), Huesca (Spain), Podgorica (Montenegro), Gold Coast, Caloundra and Lismore (Australia), Airways Aviation provides professional aviation education & training to prepare our students for optimum career outcomes.

Airways Aviation is the largest privately owned group of multidisciplinary aviation academies of its kind offering a range of certified EASA, CASA, ICAO and IATA courses for Commercial Pilots, Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, Ground Handlers and Cabin Crew.

Located only 10 minutes drive from the centre of town at the Montpellier Mediterranean International Airport sits Airways Aviation Group global operational headquarters as well as its largest single academy.  

Covering an area of over 11,000 square meters, Airways Aviation Academy Montpellier boasts extensive administrative and operational facilities which include multiple well resourced class rooms, a fleet of modern training aircraft, ( the largest Diamond Aircraft fleet in Europe )  a simulator centre and onsite Student Accommodation with 101 fully-furnished rooms.  The academy also boasts its own dedicated 20 aircraft parking along with its own taxiway access, aircraft maintenance, aircraft engineering and cabin crew teaching facilities.  Recreational resources include aa basketball court, soccer pitch and a gym.

Airways Aviation maintains a state-of-the-art fleet at its bases around the world, including modern single and multi-engine piston and turbine airplanes. The current fleet includes:

  • Cessna 172S
  • Cessna C172R
  • Cessna C182.

Training Devices

Airways Aviation is constantly broadening its range of effective Flight Training Devices to meet the need for high level flight simulation standards.

Current in-house Flight Simulators include;

  • FRASCA simulators FNPTII DA42 sim
  • Mechtronix DA42 FNPT II
  • Aslim ALX FNPT II MCC, generic multi engine turbine sim for MCC training (A320 performance)
  • Alsim AL200 simulators FNPT II
  • MCC generic multi engine sim for MCC training
  • VIS SIMS with G1000


Airways Aviation’s instructors are certified by a range of international aviation governing bodies including CASA (Australia), EASA (Europe), ICAO and IATA. All instructors meet the highest standards, maintain a wealth of knowledge and experience with many being retired airline captains with tens of thousands of hours of flight time.

Airways Aviation’s fleet is one of the largest privately owned of any flight school in the world with a total of 50+ fixed-wing aircraft, made up of Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft and complemented with Cessna 172 and 182. Also used for training is an extensive range of FNPT II flight simulators, providing realistic flight experience on the ground. 

Courses offered include Private Pilots License (PPL), Commercial Pilots License (CPL) and Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL). 

Airways Aviation also offers a Bachelor of Business alongside a Commercial Pilots License as part of its University Partnership Academic Program providing students with the CPL Pilot license qualification but also a business qualification to prepare them for multiple career choices within the aviation industry. Other courses include Cabin Crew Training, Ground Handling and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.

Industry partners have included the likes of Emirates, Air Austral and Hainan Airlines with graduate career pathways leading to employment with many of the world’s leading airlines and operators including Etihad, British Airways, Air France, easyJet, Ryanair and Malaysian Airlines to name but a few.
