An American Airlines plane, an Airbus A330, scheduled to operate flight AA731 between London Heathrow and Charlotte Douglas International Airport, has been evacuated at Heathrow Airport with passengers seen escaping down an emergency slide.

Video footage taken by passengers on other planes shows the emergency slide being used at the rear of the plane. About 12 passengers used the emergency slides to get off the plane a few minutes after boarding.
There has been no official confirmation as to why the passengers were evacuated.
Smoke could be seen coming from the rear of the aircraft, in a picture which was taken before the evacuation.
@AmericanAir please help! We are stuck in heathrow after smoke filled our cabin on flight 731. 2.5 hours and no guidance (or food!)
