ASL Airlines Plane Overshoots Runway in Bergamo

An ASL Airlines Hungary Boeing 737-400 Freighter aircraft registered HA-FAX, operating flight QY7332 on behalf of DHL from Paris Charles de Gaulle to Milan Bergamo has skidded off the runway at Bergamo’s Orio al Serio airport.

The aircraft was landing on runway 28 in poor weather at around 04.07 local time. The aircraft broke through the airport perimeter fence and came to rest on the road next to Orio al Serio International Airport near the city of Bergamo.

The two pilots onboard were uninjured and the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

The Italian investigation board, Agenzia nazionale per la sicurezza del volo (ANSV), has announced the opening of an investigation into the causes of the accident and has dispatched a team of investigators to Bergamo Orio al Serio airport.
