Swiss International Air Lines will be incorporating Rome, Lisbon and Copenhagen into its Geneva-based network in spring 2014.

With their addition, Swiss will offer direct service to no fewer than 27 destinations to its customers in Western Switzerland and adjacent French border areas.

After adding Marrakech, Belgrade, Stockholm, Oslo, Gothenburg and London Gatwick this autumn, Swiss will be further expanding its route network from Geneva in spring of next year, with new services to Rome (6x weekly), Lisbon (4x weekly) and Copenhagen (6x weekly). Swiss will also be turning its current summer-season services between Geneva and Malaga, Palma de Mallorca and Porto into year-round operations. These further expansions will bring Swiss’s Geneva-based network to 27 destinations, which will be served by a dedicated nine-aircraft fleet.

“All these destinations are attractive to both our business and our leisure customers, and will help us even better meet their air travel needs,” says Rainer Hiltebrand, Swiss’s Chief Operating Officer. “The new destinations of Rome, Lisbon and Copenhagen also offer genuine added value to all of Western Switzerland, which will be substantially more accessible to visitors from these key European cities; and we are convinced that our new routes will have a positive impact on the region’s tourism sector and its broader economy.”

Rome, Lisbon and Copenhagen will receive their new services from Geneva from 11 April 2014.
