TAP and JetBlue start codeshare services

TAP Portugal announced it has signed a code-share agreement with North America-based JetBlue as part of their commercial cooperation, which will allow to offer customers convenient flight options to several North American gateways, with seamless connections through JetBlue’s Hubs in New York John F. Kennedy and Boston Logan. 

Through this agreement, TAP will be able to place its code on JetBlue flights departing New York ‘s JFK or Boston Logan to as many as 34 North-American gateways in the whole, namely to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, Chicago, Las Vegas, Orlando, Detroit, New Orleans, Savannah, San Juan, Richmond and Tampa, among others, thereby providing Customers with easy access to a significant number of destinations inside the USA through the network of JetBlue, the largest domestic airline at both airports.

Our code-share will allow TAP to extend and intensify its network coverage and service options in a key market like the Unites States, by conveniently combining our transatlantic services with JetBlue’s domestic flights, all to our Customers benefit and increased smoothness of the travel”, said José Guedes Dias, VP Alliances, Industry and Regulatory Affairs, TAP.

Currently, TAP operates to Newark and Miami and is now extending services to the USA as part of its expansion strategy in this relevant market, with the inauguration of daily flights from Lisbon to Boston on June 11, and daily flights to New York – JFK  starting as of early July. Both will be operated with new Airbus A330 aircraft to be delivered soon, and altogether, TAP’s US service will grow to 30 flights a week.
