WOW air announces new service to Miami

WOW air, one of the fastest growing airlines in Europe, adds its 8th North American destination to their route map.

Icelandic low-cost airline WOW air has today announced a new service from the UK to Miami beginning in April 2017.

Flights will depart from London Gatwick to Miami via Reykjavik, offering travellers on any budget the chance to experience the sun soaked city that acts as a gateway to South America and the Caribbean. The inaugural service to Miami International Airport will depart on 5 April 2017, the service operating three times per week year round.

WOW air‘s expansion to Miami builds upon the successful launch of transatlantic services to Montreal, Washington D.C, Toronto, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and New York from both London Gatwick.

Skúli Mogensen, CEO of WOW air, said:

“Having lived in Miami myself, I understand the appeal for many UK and European travellers, so I am thrilled to add this global and energetic city to our ever growing list of North-American destinations.

“With our New York service commencing in November and now Miami only a few months later, we are thrilled to continue our mission to offer the lowest fares across the Atlantic.“

The flights from Reykjavik to Miami will be serviced by WOW air‘s fleet of long-range Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The wide-bodied planes fly with a single-class configuration, with a capacity of 350 passengers and a seat pitch varying from 30-34 inches.

WOW air flies daily from London Gatwick to Reykjavik with twice-daily flights currently on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. The airline also operates regular services from Bristol and Edinburgh.

By the end of 2016, the airline will serve 30 destinations across Europe and North America including London, New York, Edinburgh, Bristol, Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Montreal, Toronto and Boston.
