VietJet signs agreement with Airbus to establish flight and maintenance training centre in Vietnam

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company (“Vietjet”) has today signed an agreement with Airbus to provide flight and maintenance training services in Ho Chi Minh City.

With this agreement, Vietjet Air’s flight training centre will host an Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulator (FFS) to conduct flight crew training for the airlines A320 fleet. This is the first training agreement by Airbus to take place in Vietnam.

The agreement sees Airbus provide training services to Vietjet via their dynamic trainers and teaching techniques. These programs will be delivered within the Airbus Competence Training (ACT) classroom concept, whilst bringing Airbus and European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) standards to the Vietjet training organisation. The centre will focus on training pilots, engineers, mechanics, flight dispatchers and flight trainers.

“We are delighted to expand our services footprint in Vietnam with our first training services agreement in the country,” said Mr. Didier Lux, Head of Customer Service for Airbus. “Teaming up with Vietjet is a major milestone to deliver training by Airbus in the region, and it ensures more efficient service, support and proximity to our customers.”

Speaking at the signing at the Singapore Airshow, Mr. Dinh Viet Phuong, Vice President of Vietjet said, “Vietjet and Airbus have effectively collaborated with each other, and this agreement once again marks a new milestone for both organisations. Airbus’ training expertise will help enforce Vietjet’s capabilities in flight and maintenance training to be in line with internationally recognised standards. Investment in an aviation institute is one of the most important goals in Vietjet’s sustainable growth strategies.”
