Asiana Airlines of South Korea and Austrian Airlines signed their first codeshare agreement.
In line with the stipulations of the agreement, flights to the South Korean capital city of Seoul via Tokyo or Bangkok are immediately bookable at Austrian Airlines. This agreement is the first of its kind with Asiana Airlines, and is thus of particular importance to Austrian Airlines.
“We worked for about one year to put together a corresponding contractual agreement”, says Christian Steyer, responsible Director of Cooperations at Austrian Airlines. “However, the long waiting time has paid off. We have attracted a new partner in the Asian region, and in cooperation with Asiana Airlines we can offer new and interesting destinations to our customers.”
The codeshare agreement covers the following routes:
Asiana Airlines feeder flights:
Bangkok – Seoul – Bangkok
Tokyo (NRT) – Seoul – Tokyo
Austrian Airlines feeder flights:
Vienna – Frankfurt – Vienna
Vienna – London (LHR) – Vienna
Vienna – Rome – Vienna
