Wizz Air expands Cluj- Napoca base

Wizz Air has announced further expansion at its Cluj-Napoca base.

The airline will deploy a fourth aircraft and launch 3 new services: from 20 December twice weekly flights will operate from Cluj-Napoca to Cologne, followed by twice weekly services to Geneva and Malmo commencing on 21 December.

With these 3 new services and the recently announced service from Cluj-Napoca to Nuremberg Wizz Air is now offering a total of 20 routes to 10 countries from Cluj-Napoca. The airline has also increased frequencies on some of its most popular routes in the winter 2014 season. Milan Bergamo and Paris Beauvais can now be reached with 5 weekly flights, the popular services from Cluj-Napoca to Dortmund and Bologna will be operating 4 times per week, while the service to Rome Ciampino will increase to 3 weekly flights this December.

John Stephenson, Wizz Air’s Executive Vice President, said: “Today we are thrilled to announce the deployment of a 4th Airbus A320 aircraft in Cluj-Napoca. With the three new services we now offer a total of 20 international routes. We hope that our new routes will be welcomed by consumers and benefit the tourism and aviation sectors as we bring more low fares to Romania.”
