Southwest Airlines announces new Vice President Operational Strategies and Performance

    Southwest Airlines has promoted Justin Jones to Vice President Operational Strategies and Performance.

    In this newly created role, Jones will work alongside a dynamic Team responsible for the operational performance and strategic planning of companywide initiatives that align and support the daily operation of the airline. Jones previously served as Southwest’s Senior Director Pricing and Planning.

    “Justin has 15 years of Southwest experience on both the operational and commercial sides of our airline. He’s a proven Leader, with an exemplary track record,” said Mike Van de Ven, Southwest Airlines Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We have tremendous operational opportunities in front of us, and I’m excited to have Justin’s talents to focus and coordinate our efforts.”

    Jones joined Southwest in 2001 as a Revenue Management and Pricing Analyst. He has held various positions in Interactive Marketing, Aircraft Operations, Operations Research, and Pricing & Planning throughout his tenure at Southwest. He will report directly to Mike Van de Ven. Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in Economics.
