Turkish Airlines Opens First Lounge in the U.S.

Turkish Airlines celebrated the official opening of its first lounge in the U.S., the Turkish Airlines Lounge Washington D.C., at Dulles International Airport (IAD) on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016.

“We are pleased to bring to the United States the world-renowned lounge experience that Turkish Airlines pioneered at Istanbul’s Ataturk International Airport”, said Ilker Ayci, Chairman of Turkish Airlines.

“Travelers who visit the Turkish Airlines lounge at Dulles International Airport will be treated to some of the finest services and accommodations."

The new 5,000 square foot lounge seats 120 guests and features amenities that cater to the needs of business and leisure travelers, which include: food and beverage buffet; shower and bathroom facilities; Free Wi-Fi;Business Corner with six all-in-one PCs; Prayer and relaxation rooms; Direct connection to the Aerobridge; Entertainment, daily newspapers and magazines.

Since November 2010, Turkish Airlines has connected business and leisure travelers in the Washington, D.C. area to the world with nonstop service through its Istanbul hub.

The new lounge reinforces Turkish Airlines’ commitment to ensuring travel is both convenient and comfortable for U.S. travelers. Turkish Airlines currently offers 10 flights per week from Washington, D.C. to Istanbul, and serves eight other gateway cities in the U.S., including New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, Atlanta, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
