Air Namibia announced the appointment of Mr. Elia Erastus, Chief Human Resources Officer as Acting Chief Executive Officer effective 11 February 2020 until a new Chief Executive Officer has been appointed.
This follows the resignation of Mr. Xavier Masule from the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 10 February 2020. Mr. Masule has cited personal reasons as the basis for resignation and will be returning to his position as Chief Commercial Officer.
Mr. Erastus is a seasoned human capital professional and holds a MBL degree. He has amassed extensive corporate leadership experience, having worked in the energy, financial services, mining and construction sectors.
“The Board would like to thank Mr. Masule for having led the airline during a difficult 11 months and wishes Mr. Erastus all the best in his new role,” the airline said in a statement.
