AirAsia to connect Joho Bahru to Tawau with new direct service

The coastal city of Tawau will now be connected directly to Johor Bahru with the announcement of AirAsia’s four times weekly direct flights to commence on 28 April 2017.

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia Berhad said:

“We are proud to be the only airline to offer this direct flight, connecting both cities in Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. We aim to strengthen the connectivity within our network and the introduction of this route is a great example of our commitment.”

Known as the gateway to the wonderful islands of Semporna, Tawau is a must-visit not only for diving enthusiasts but for the sun and sea lovers as well. Most popular on the list is the famed Sipadan Island, ranked as one of the best diving spots in the world.
