Alitalia launches flights between Catania and Bologna

Alitalia will launch on 1 May non-stop flights between Catania and Bologna to enhance further its route network between the South and North of Italy.

The new service between the two cities will mean Alitalia operates more than 400 weekly frequencies between the South and North of Italy.  

The new route, operated by 165 seat Airbus A320 or 138 seat Airbus A319 aircraft, will depart Catania at 7.30am and land in Bologna at 9.10am. The return flight will leave Bologna at 10am and touch down in Catania at 11.45am. 

Alitalia will at the same time add to its commitment in Sicily with a 17 per cent hike in flights available from Catania. A further 16 weekly flights will be added from Catania to Rome Fuimicino to total 160 flights a week from Fontanarossa Airport to Milan, Naples and Lampedusa, as well as to the Italian capital and the new service to Bologna. Alitalia travellers flying from Catania can also transfer with ease at Rome to 70 destinations in Europe, North America, South America, North Africa, the Middle East and Asia including convenient connections at Fuimicino to Alitalia’s new long haul routes to Santiago which starts on May 1 and Mexico City which begins on June 16.
