Allegiant launches nonstop flights from Pittsburgh to West Palm Beach and New Orleans

Allegiant today launches nonstop seasonal flights to West Palm Beach and the Big Easy from Pittsburgh.

“Allegiant’s  launch of these new flights from Pittsburgh to Palm Beach and New Orleans is very exciting for all three communities”, said Jude Bricker, Allegiant Chief Operating Officer.

West Palm Beach

The new seasonal flights will operate twice weekly and expand on the service Allegiant currently operates to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI). The service will run from Feb. 19, 2016  through May 16, 2016. The new flights will bring more than 4,000 additional visitors each year to the Palm Beach area and generate an estimated $3.6 million in total visitor spending annually.

“Allegiant’s  new route is exciting news for the airport, community and economy of Palm Beach County”, said Bruce Pelly, director of airports for Palm Beach County. “Partnering with Allegiant for their first nonstop service from  Pittsburgh to Palm Beach is a great benefit to our travelers and provides more options when making travel plans to and from PBI.”

“We  are pleased that Allegiant continues to increase service at PBI, expanding the reach for travelers to the Palm Beaches and for our residents to have more  options when flying out of PBI”, said Glenn Jergensen, Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council executive director. “The Pittsburgh market is a  welcomed addition for those south bound travelers looking to escape the winter’s fury to discover the Palm Beaches, the best way to experience Florida.”

New Orleans

The new, year-round flights will operate twice weekly and expand on the flights Allegiant currently operates to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). The flights will bring nearly 17,000 additional visitors each year to the New Orleans area and generate an estimated $15.4 million annually in total visitor spending.

“We are very pleased to welcome Allegiant’s nonstop service from Pittsburgh,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, director of aviation for Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. “Pittsburgh has been one of our top markets  unserved by a nonstop flight.”
