Allegiant launches service from three new cities to Jacksonville

Allegiant this week launches new service from three new cities to Jacksonville, Florida.

New, nonstop service includes flights from Columbus, Ohio; Asheville, North Carolina and St. Louis, Missouri.

“We’re excited to begin these three new routes to the Jacksonville area,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “We’re looking forward to bringing more visitors and economic growth to Jacksonville with our affordable and convenient service.”

New seasonal routes to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) include:

– Columbus, Ohio – May 25, 2016, through August 13, 2016;

– Asheville, North Carolina – May 27, 2016, through August 15, 2016;

– St. Louis, Missouri – May 27, 2016, through August 15, 2016.

The new routes will operate twice weekly and expand on the service that Allegiant currently operates to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). With these three new routes, Allegiant will now fly from eight cities into the Jacksonville area. The new routes will bring nearly 12,000 additional visitors each year to the Jacksonville area.

We welcome Allegiant’s continued growth at JAX with seasonal service to Columbus, Asheville and St. Louis,” Jacksonville Aviation Authority CEO Steve Grossman said. “These flights will bring many more travelers to our region and present our community with additional nonstop opportunities.”

“We are excited to welcome visitors from these new destinations to Jacksonville this week!” said Paul Astleford, president and CEO, Visit Jacksonville. “We are so thankful to Allegiant for opening up the pathway for all of these new visitors to enjoy northeast Florida for business or pleasure.”
