Blue Islands to Operate Flights from 22 different German Airports

Specialist German tour operator Globalis has partnered with Blue Islands to operate flights from 22 different German airports, as well as one Swiss airport to Jersey over a 16-week period this summer.

Rob Veron, Blue Islands Chief Executive Officer, said:

“Globalis has been organising bespoke holidays for visitors to Jersey for the past eight years, that’s why we’re extremely proud to have been selected for the first time to operate its extensive 2019 programme from Germany to Jersey this summer. As a Channel Islands based airline, and experienced charter operator, Blue Islands is able to meet the needs of Globalis’ market.”

Hartmut Piel, Globalis General Manager, said:

“Globalis is delighted to partner with Blue Islands to deliver the complex operation that allows our guests to discover the beautiful island of Jersey with exciting packages created using our years of knowledge and experience.”

Flights will operate on Saturdays and Sunday from 13 April until 16 June and from 21 September until 27 October from a total of 23 different airports.

Visitors will arrive from 22 different German airports including Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt. Additionally, there will also be a flight from Basel in Switzerland, which is all part of Globalis’ summer activity to Jersey.

Keith Beecham, Visit Jersey CEO, said:

“It’s great news that Blue Islands and Globalis will be cooperating to bring German holidaymakers to Jersey in 2019. We are especially pleased that planes will start arriving earlier, from April and leaving later in October so some German visitors can experience Jersey in Spring or Autumn.”

Mr. Veron added:

“We look forward to welcoming our German guests to Jersey this summer, partnerships with specialist tour operators are key to evolving our tourism proposition.”

As well as the inbound flights for Globalis, summer 2019 will see Blue Islands operate series charter services into the Channel Islands from Rotterdam, Zurich and Groningen for 22, 18 and eight-week periods respectively.
