Eric Schramm appointed Air France Executive Vice President Operation and Accountable Manager

Eric Schramm is appointed Executive Vice President Operations, Accountable Manager, and member of Air France Executive Committee.

He therefore becomes Air France Accountable Manager, as defined in EU regulations. In this capacity, he will oversee flight operations, ground operations and the maintenance division. 

Eric Schramm declared: “It is with great humility, commitment and in a spirit of continuity that I have accepted this position, as I am fully aware of the magnitude of the task and its responsibilities. My actions will be guided by two strong convictions. Firstly, the safety and security of our flights are more than just a priority, they are a prerequisite for our activity. My second belief is that improving the company’s operational performance is a major challenge that I will endeavour to continue”. 

Eric Schramm, born in 1959, obtained his IFR professional pilot licence in 1980 and trained as an instructor in 1981. He joined Air France in June 1987 as a First Officer on B727 then on B747-200. He became a Flight Captain on B737 in 1995 and in 1996 became an instructor. The following year, he was appointed assistant flight deck crew manager for Boeing 737 training and took charge of this department in 1998.  From 1999 to 2002, he was chief pilot at L’Aeropostale, then head of the Boeing 737 fleet from 2002 to 2004. In August 2004, he qualified as Boeing 777 Flight Captain, and held the position of Central professional standard manager at the Flight Operations Division from March 2006 to November 2009. He was appointed Trajectoire group manager in November 2009. On 1 February 2010, he was appointed Executive Vice President Flight Operations at Air France and became a member of the Executive Committee. As of 1 December 2015, Eric Schramm is appointed Executive Vice President Operations and Accountable Manager at Air France.
