Etihad Airways to suspend its service to Sao Paulo

Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways announced it will cease flights between Abu Dhabi and Sao Paulo next year citing the weakening Brazilian economy.

Etihad’s only service to South America will be discontinued from March 26, 2017.

“The current economic crisis in Brazil together with the sharp depreciation of the Brazilian currency have severely impacted travel to and from the South American nation”, the airline said in a statement.

Etihad launched the daily service back in June 2013 using A340-600 aircraft on the route.
