Fiji Airways Extends San Francisco Seasonal Flights to Year-Round Service

Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, has announced the extension of its seasonal San Francisco – Nadi flights to a year-round service, following a successful first year of operations.

The direct San Francisco International Airport to Fiji services began mid-2016.

The new year-round service sees the Fijian carrier fly between San Francisco and Fiji twice a week, increasing to three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) in the high season from June through August and December.

Mr. Andre Viljoen, Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said:

“Our expansion out of SFO represents our position as the premier carrier for Fiji and the South Pacific, as well as being a gateway carrier to Australia and New Zealand.

“We are buoyed by the increasing demand from business, leisure and visiting friends/family segments to the South Pacific and beyond from the San Francisco Bay Area and the greater Northwest.”

Ivar C. Satero, San Francisco International Airport Director, said:

“We are thrilled that Fiji Airways has chosen SFO for expanded year-round service. This move validates the strong market for nonstop flights between San Francisco and Fiji, and we are pleased that our customers can now enjoy Fiji Airways’ award-winning service year-round.”

Operated using the airline’s A330 aircraft, the direct flight takes 10 hours. Fiji Airways’ San Francisco to Nadi, Fiji flight will depart 11.00 pm arriving in Nadi at 5.10 am. The flight will depart Nadi at 10:15 pm, arriving in San Francisco 1:45 pm
