Frontier Airlines Pilot Leaders Elect New Officer Team

The voting members of the Frontier Airlines branch of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) have elected a new officer team to their Master Executive Council (MEC) to lead the airline’s 1,400 pilots.

Elected were Capt. Tracy Smith as MEC chairman, Capt. Paul Kesely as MEC vice chairman, and Capt. Alan Christie as MEC secretary-treasurer. The officers will serve a two-year term that begins April 1.

Capt. Tracy Smith

Capt. Smith was reelected to a second term as MEC chairman. An Airbus 320/321 pilot based in Orlando, he has been with Frontier since 2013. His previous union work includes service as chairman of Frontier’s Orlando Council 169, a Negotiating Committee member at World Airlines, and Negotiating Committee member and local council chairman at Air Wisconsin Airlines. He lives in Denver.

Capt. Paul Kesely

Capt. Kesely was elected to his first term as MEC vice chairman after previously serving as chairman and captain representative for Frontier’s Denver Council 165. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, he is an Airbus 320/321 pilot who previously flew for Northern Air Cargo and several other Alaska-based air carriers. Capt. Kesely joined Frontier in 2003 and lives in rural Arapahoe County.

Capt. Alan Christie

Capt. Christie was reelected to his first full term as MEC secretary-treasurer. Capt. Christie is a Las Vegas-based Airbus 320/321 pilot entering his 16th year at Frontier. He previously worked as a corporate jet pilot for 18 years, as well as stints at America West Airlines, Northwest Airlines, Kitty Hawk Aircargo, and Gemini Air Cargo. He has served as a union volunteer on the Pilot-to-Pilot Committee, Strategic Preparedness Committee, Communications Committee, and as a media spokesperson. Capt. Christie lives in Avon, Colo.
