GE Capital Aviation Services delivers first of six B737-800s to Air India Express

GE Capital Aviation Services, the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of GE, today announced delivery of a new leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft to new customer Air India Express to expand the carrier’s fleet.

Five more new 737-800 aircraft are scheduled for delivery to the airline later this year. All are part of GECAS’ existing order book with Boeing.

Air India Express is a low-cost subsidiary of Air India. It has its corporate office in Kochi and maintains an engineering base at Thiruvananthapuram. It operates about 100 flights per week from South India to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
