Jet Blue announces new flights between Orlando and Los Angeles

JetBlue today announced it is continuing to boost its transcontinental flight network with a new route and more Mint flights.

The airline will add new nonstop flights between Orlando and Los Angeles. Additionally, airline will launch Mint flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and San Francisco.

“This is a big win for our Florida and California customers who are eager to have more choices when traveling cross country,” said Dave Clark, vice president network planning, JetBlue. “The Sunshine State and the Golden State have been so important to JetBlue’s growth and success, which is why we are so pleased to continue to deliver on our plan to expand on both coasts.”

JetBlue will launch new nonstop service between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) starting on January 5, 2017.

The new route will further grow JetBlue’s presence in its Orlando focus city where it is already a top carrier with flights to more than two dozen nonstop destinations. The route also grows the list of destinations JetBlue serves at Los Angeles-LAX. JetBlue will operate up to 17 daily flights at LAX and will now serve each of the airline’s northeast and Florida focus cities with nonstop service from southern California.

JetBlue will operate service between Orlando and Los Angeles using its Airbus A320.

JetBlue will launch Mint service on all flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and San Francisco International Airports (SFO) starting May 15, 2017.

Mint service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and San Francisco will complete JetBlue’s plans to bring its premium service to the south Florida focus city and further grow Mint in the Bay Area. As previously announced, Mint flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Los Angeles-LAX will begin March 20, 2017.

Mint aircraft include the longest fully-flat bed seating in the U.S. domestic premium market, fully enclosed private suites and a 15-inch flat screen with complimentary entertainment options.

Since launching in 2014, Mint has become a favorite way for celebrities, technology executives, creatives, and entrepreneurs to travel across the country. Mint was recognized by Fast Company’s Innovation By Design Awards, which honors innovative and disruptive design that pushes boundaries and seeks to change the world.
