Jet2.com adds eighth base at Birmingham airport

Leisure airline Jet2.com is continuing their expansion in the UK with the launch today of flights from Birmingham Airport, their eighth UK airport base.

The airline announced fifteen destinations for summer 2017: Alicante, Crete (Heraklion), Faro, Fuerteventura, Girona (Costa Brava), Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Majorca, Malaga, Menorca, Paphos, Reus, Rhodes and Tenerife.

A total of 57 weekly flights will operate to these destinations, with daily services to popular hotspots Alicante, Faro and Majorca. The flights will operate on four of Jet2.com brand new Boeing 737-800 next generation aircraft. The first flights from Birmingham Airport will take off on Thursday 30th March 2017 to Faro and Malaga.

Jet2.com arrival in Birmingham means significant investment for the region. More than 200 new jobs will be created with roles available including flight and cabin crew, engineers and ground operations staff.
