Jetstar doubles destinations out of Avalon with new Adelaide and Hobart flights

Jetstar starts new services to Hobart and Adelaide from Avalon Airport.

The airline announced its four weekly Hobart and three weekly Adelaide services in December 2015.

“We’ve been really pleased to see locals back these services and our Avalon team is looking forward to welcoming thousands of passengers onboard flights to Adelaide and Hobart during the busy Victorian school holiday period,” Mr Hall said.

“The tourism offerings in Hobart and Adelaide are among the best in Australia and we’re delighted so many local families will get the chance to experience them more often with our low fares.

“Importantly, these services also provide local business owners with convenient, reliable and affordable links to new markets. We’re proud to play a role supporting these local firms as they look to expand from their base in Geelong, win new business and better service customers interstate.”

Victorian Minister for Tourism and Major Events John Eren welcomed Jetstar’s continued expansion out of Avalon Airport.

“These new services mean more visitors from South Australia and Tasmania will be able to see for themselves that we have something for everyone and the best of everything right here in Victoria,” Minister Eren said.

“With these new routes, Jetstar now offers more than 450,000 seats a year into Avalon Airport from four Australian cities. This presents a huge opportunity for us to grow visitor numbers and support local jobs in our tourism and hospitality sectors.”

The launch of the Adelaide and Hobart services fulfills Jetstar’s commitment to offer more destinations and flights from Avalon as part of its 10-year agreement with the Victorian Government and airport owners Linfox.

With the Adelaide and Hobart flights, Jetstar now offers more than 900,000 seats a year in and out of Avalon Airport. Jetstar also offers 35 flights a week to Sydney and seven flights a week to the Gold Coast from Avalon Airport.
