LIAT returns to Dominica

LIAT announced the resumption of flights to and from the Douglas-Charles Airport in Dominica starting Friday September 18.

LIAT was forced to suspend services to Dominica on August 27 due to the passage of Tropical Storm Erika which resulted in severe damage to the island and closure of the Douglas-Charles Airport.

Chief Executive Officer David Evans applauded the Government and People of Dominica for their resilience over the last several weeks citing their tireless efforts to get the country back to a state of normalcy following the storm.

“We are extremely happy to be returning to Dominica,” Mr. Evans said, noting that “this would not have been possible without the spirit of community and resilience for which Dominica is well known”.

LIAT will operate one flight to Dominica on Friday September 18; increasing to two daily flights from Saturday September 19.

LI581 will depart Antigua’s V.C. Bird International Airport at 07:10 daily, arriving at the Douglas-Charles Airport at 07:50. The return service LI580 will leave Dominica at 08:30, arriving in Antigua at 09:10.

Effective Saturday, September 19, LI364 will depart Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados at 14:20 daily, arriving at the Douglas-Charles Airport at 15:20. On Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday the service continues to Guadeloupe and Antigua arriving at 16:25 and 17:20 respectively. On Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the service continues non-stop to Antigua, departing Dominica at 16:00 and arriving in Antigua at 16:40.
