Malindo Air Kuala Lumpur To Chiang Mai Service Takes Off

Malindo Air, Malaysia’s airline, continues its exciting expansion plan by introducing daily direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Chiang Mai, Thailand, thus further strengthening its reasonably vast network in Asia.

Chiang Mai, the major gateway to Northern Thailand, marks the airline’s second destination in Thailand after Bangkok. Malindo Air is making inroads into Thailand with direct flight between Kuala Lumpur and Phuket scheduled to be launched on 10 November 2016.

Malindo Air flight OD 530 departs every day from KLIA at 10.35 am and arrives at Chiang Mai International Airport at 12.20 pm local time. Chiang Mai is one hour behind Kuala Lumpur time. The return flight will depart Chiang Mai at 1.40 pm and arrive at KLIA at 5.25 pm.

CEO of Malindo Air Chandran Rama Muthy said:

“Today marks another milestone for Malindo Air as we offer mconnectivity from Malaysia to Chiang Mai, a popular international holiday destination in Thailand. We are continuously looking to expand our reach to provide customers across the growing Malindo Air network with more travel options. Travellers from Malaysia will now be able to access this exciting destination conveniently in just 2 hours and 45 minutes with our impressive low fares.”

“The introduction of our daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Chiang Mai underscores the strong and growing economic, business and tourism links between Malaysia and Thailand. This will certainly bring mutual benefits to both countries. Malaysia recorded 1.34 million visitors from Thailand in 2015, and from January to October this year we have already recorded a staggering 1.17 million visitors from Thailand. We are certain our new frequency and attractive fares will stimulate more inbound and outbound travels between the two countries,” Chandran added.

The Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a seat capacity of 162, with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats, will be deployed on the 1,762 kilometre route.
