Oman Air announced the appointment of Ms. Asma Humaid Al Ghabshi as Executive Vice President for Human Resources.

Asma brings with her wide international experience also an energetic spirit and determination to inspire the younger generation of men and women at Oman Air to work hard on their personal development as well as the success of the airline, to become the best.

Commenting on this landmark appointment, Oman Air CEO Paul Gregorowitsch said:

“We are very proud to welcome Asma as our new Executive Vice President for HR. Her vast international experience and desire to introduce new staff-friendly HR initiatives is certain to not only yield great results, but inspire all our employees to achieve their full potential.”

Having graduated with a degree in English Language and Literature from the Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Asma worked for Shell for 14 years in Oman, Qatar, Egypt and the Netherlands. During her time there, she had an incredibly positive impact on the company by undertaking a number of different roles within HR. She focused on learning & development, talent management, recruitment and led on a number of projects in the field of change management.

Ms. Asma Humaid Al Ghabshi said:

“I hope to inspire especially the younger generation of talent at Oman Air. My advice to them is to work hard and make it their mission to do their best so they can be proud of what they achieve and deliver. Being motivated and ready to challenge yourself is the best recipe to succeed. As a woman, I believe that the work you do is far more important than what gender you are. Both men and women can certainly reach their potential when they strive to do so.”

Coming from a different sector, Asma will initially immerse herself in the culture of Oman Air, learning more about the business and its employees, so she can then align her ambitions for HR with the vision of the company.
