Oman Air Announces New Date for Najaf Launch

Oman Air can announce that as part of its ambitious and dynamic programme of network expansion, it will be commencing its four times weekly service from Muscat to Najaf, in Iraq from November.

It is expected that the flights will further strengthen political, economic and cultural ties between Oman and Iraq.

Paul Gregorowitsch, Chief Executive Officer at Oman Air, said:

“Following a temporary delay of our service to Najaf as the Operational teams were assessing and scheduling all fleet types for safe deployment on the route, Oman Air is delighted to start this service as our first destination in Iraq. The holy city of Najaf offers excellent potential for business travellers, those visiting friends and family, and for pilgrims. We anticipate a high demand.”

In September, Oman Air announced that its planned service between Muscat and Najaf, expected to start on 15th September, was on hold.

“The decision was taken in line with Oman Air’s over-riding priority of ensuring the safety and well-being of all its customers and staff”, the airline said in a statement.
