Pakistan International Airlines has resumed the operation of its ATR turboprop fleet, the airline announced.
The Pakistani flag-carrier grounded its fleet of ten European-made ATR aircraft days after 47 people were killed in a crash in northern Pakistan, the airline said on Monday.
Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-661 from Chitral to Islamabad crashed near Havelian on December 7th, 2016, with 42 passengers and 5 crew members onboard.
On December 19, the airline operated six ATR flights, including services to Gilgit, Kabul, and Multan.
Pakistan International Airlines chartered a Lockheed Hercules C-130 from the Pakistan Air Force to cover some of its domestic operations affected by the recent grounding of its entire ATR fleet. The move was as a result of a Pakistan Government directive.
