Paul Schwaiger takes over the responsibility for Condor’s Short- and Medium-Haul business

Paul Schwaiger (62) will take over the position of Commercial Director Continental Europe Thomas Cook Group Airlines as of Thursday 1 September 2016 and will be responsible for Condor’s and Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium‘s short- and medium-haul business.

Paul Schwaiger is a trained commercial air transport officer and has worked in various positions in sales, marketing and product management at Lufthansa in Hamburg, Hong Kong and Frankfurt. After a period of time working for SunExpress in Antalya with responsibility for the commercial management, he then spent three years having responsibility for Lufthansa Touristic. Iin 1996, Schwaiger moved to Condor in order to take over the management of the tour operator, Fischer Reisen GmbH in Hamburg where he spent the next four years. In July 2000 he transferred to the management of the joint venture company SunExpress, where he stayed for the next 15 years. In July 2015 he moved into project management working at Lufthansa Headquarters in Frankfurt.

In his new position at Condor, Schwaiger will develop the network of the touristic airlines Condor and Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium. In this function he will report into Ralf Teckentrup, Chief Commercial Officer Thomas Cook Group Airlines and Managing Director Condor Flugdienst.

“At the same time we are pleased that we have been able to promote Tammo Gause, a proven expert in flight control as well as in purchases and sales of flight capacities to a responsible position in our main company and most important customer of Thomas Cook.”

After 12 years at Condor Tammo Gause, (aged 41) will shift back to the tour operator segment. On 1 November he will take over the position of Head of Flight Yield & Purchasing for Thomas Cook Central Europe. In this function he will be responsible for flight purchasing and yielding.

Tammo successfully transformed the continental short and medium haul business and improved the cooperation within the German and Belgian market. Under his direction those responsible for sales joined forces creating a powerful team for the many challenges in the touristic short- and medium- haul segment.
