The Bernese regional airline SkyWork Airlines is gradually expanding its service offering.

It is adding two new destinations, Heringsdorf and Jersey, and increasing the frequency of flights to London City.

The connection to London City (LCY) at each end of the day, launched at the beginning of September, has got off to a good start. The departure and arrival times are tailored to the needs of business travellers, so their stay in London makes efficient use of the time available. With effect from 4 January the morning flight to LCY will leave Bern a few minutes earlier than previously (new departure time: 06:00).

For people without any time constraints an extra midday flight on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays is being added from 4 January. The SkyWork Airlines aircraft leaves Bern at 11:05. All flights to and from London City will include a short stopover in Basel.

From 12 June to 18 September SkyWork Airlines will be operating a new, once-weekly flight to the booming island of Usedom (Heringsdorf). The Sunday flight will leave Bern at 11:00 and after a brief stopover in Basel will make course for the island in the Baltic Sea.

A new weekly direct flight from Bern to Jersey is also being introduced. The scheduled service to the fascinating British Channel Island will actually commence on April 16 and operate every Saturday until 15 October.

Flights to Cologne will now operate via Basel

From 1 May 2016 the EuroAirport Basel will once again have a direct link to Cologne/Bonn thanks to SkyWork Airlines. Flight number SX 212 will make a short stopover in Basel on route from Berne. This principle has already proven successful on flights to London City.

From 1 May, the departure times from Bern from Monday to Friday will be brought forward to 06.10; the Sunday flight will then leave Bern at 18:25.

There are now already 19 destinations on the schedule for next year’s summer and autumn holiday season, 12 of which are classic holiday destinations. These include Heringsdorf, Elba and Jersey, ‘gems’ that are not available on the schedules of the major airlines.

As in previous years, next summer SkyWork Airlines will again be serving the other classic holiday destinations of Cagliari, Menorca, Olbia, Palma de Mallorca, Figari, Ibiza, Rijeka, Split and Zadar. The airline is however already also offering a continuous service through the winter to Palma de Mallorca from Bern. Two weekly flights (Thursday/Sunday) will allow visitors to start enjoying spring in January.
