UTair Increases Passenger Transportation 30.9% in October

UTair aviation has released its operational results for October and the previous 10 months of 2016.  

In October 2016, the UTair fleet transported 606,475 passengers, 30.9% more than for the same period in 2015. Of these, 506,331 passengers flew domestic routes, a 23% YoY increase, and 100,144 passengers flew international routes, a 44.4% YoY increase. UTair passenger turnover increased by 18.9% YoY and reached a total of 948,784,000 pkm for the reporting period, with a 12.3% increase on domestic routes and a 48% increase on international routes. In the reporting period passenger load factor increased by 5.6% and amounted to 73.4%. Aircraft flight hours during the reporting period reached 15,696 hours, 19.9% more than for the same period last year. The transport of cargo and mail increased by 18.5% and amounted to a total of 1,961.6 tons for the reporting period.

In the January-October period the UTair fleet carried 5,608,111 passengers, 17.3% more than for the same period in 2015. This indicator on domestic routes increased by 24.3%. UTair passenger turnover on domestic routes increased by 5.5% YoY and reached 9,189,463 pkm, a 25.5% YoY increase. Aircraft flight hours during the reporting period increased by 11% and reached a total of 149,200 hours. Significant growth was recorded in the segment of cargo transportation. UTair transported 19,584.89 tons of cargo and mail for the first ten months of 2016, 43.9% more than for the same period last year.

“The positive dynamics for key UTair performance indicators was achieved by increasing the management efficiency of our regional network and fleet, as well as with the help of the docking program at Vnukovo International Airport”, commented UTair – Passenger Airlines President Alexey Budnik. “In addition, we adapted to a three-wave flight schedule at Vnukovo, where the core of the UTair flight program for key destinations now includes morning, evening and day-time flights.”
