Vietjet launches two new international routes

Vietjet today announced the launch of its newest international routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Kuala Lumpur and Tainan City.

The Kuala Lumpur route will commence operations on 1 June 2016 and will depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City at 9.30am (local time) and arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 12.25pm (local time). The return flight will take off from Kuala Lumpur at 1.00pm (local time) and arrive at Ho Chi Minh City at 1.55pm (location). The flight duration for each sector is approximately 1 hour and 55 minutes.

Launching on 22 June 2016, the Ho Chi Minh City to Tainan route will operate every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights will depart from Ho Chi Minh City at 10.45am (local time) and arrive at Tainan City at 3.00pm (local time). The return flight will depart at 4.00pm (local time) and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 6.15pm (local time). The flight time per section is approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Speaking at the launch ceremony today in Kuala Lumpur, Ms Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vice President of Vietjet said, “the launch of the new routes is the latest development in our plans to expand Vietjet’s operating network in Asia. With these routes, we can offer passengers more options for travel at affordable prices.”

Vietjet currently operates 47 domestic and international routes. It offers twice daily flights from Singapore to Ho Chi Minh City where travelers can easily connect to other cities within Vietnam via the airline’s extensive network of domestic flights. In addition, other international routes include Bangkok, Siem Reap, Taipei, Yangon and Seoul.
